I started blogging way back in 2008 as a way to keep a journal of our adventures as a family.
The title "3 Sweet Teas and Me" is a name that summed up our family in a Southern-kind-of-way.
Hubby and the kids drink sweet tea, and I do not!
Why doesn't a Southern girl drink sweet tea you ask? Well, because I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was in the 3rd grade. I'm an unsweet tea and Diet Dr. Pepper kind-of-girl.

As 2014 began, I started thinking about how to update the blog
making it more interactive beyond just being a place to journal.
Now it's already 2017! I mostly use Facebook and Instagram as my journaling formats these days, but I thought it'd be fun to give this site a go again.

I am a wife, a mother, and a teacher.
I am a wife:
Hubby and I met in 1992 at The University of Georgia, and we've been together ever since! We dated for 7 years before we got married. Hubby is the best husband and dad! An interesting fact about Hubby is that he is 6'5". I am 5'5". You should see our wedding pictures!
I am a mother:
We have two children: Our Boy and Our Girl. They bring us much joy, and Hubby teases that if we had known kids were this great...we would have started life with them way earlier.
Our Boy was born in 2003. He loves to figure things out. He's on the shooting and golf teams at school. He plays the piano (forced by his parents to take lessons since Kindergarten). He is interested in history (WWII is his favorite period).
Our Girl was born in 2004. She is our fashionista. She loves music. She's also our sports lover. She plays softball, basketball, and plays golf. She sings and plays the piano. She also likes to bake.

I am a teacher:
I have been teaching since 1997. I graduated with my bachelor's and master's degrees from UGA-Go Dawgs! I taught Pre-K for my first 3 years of teaching. I taught Kindergarten for 13 years. I am currently teaching 2nd grade at a private Christian school, and I love it! I also teach an art summer camp. The thing that I love about being a teacher is that every group of students brings a new experience. Not only do I love teaching my students, I also love sharing my passion for integrating technology in the classroom with other educators.
I am inspired by each of these roles: wife, mother, and teacher.
I hope to connect with you here for some inspiration along the way.
