Thanksgiving

We're fully into the Christmas mode here at our house, but I thought I'd take a minute to post about Thanksgiving.

At school, our girl's class participated in the annual Thanksgiving feast. This year we let the kids choose: Native American, Pilgrim, or Mayflower. As you can see, our girl chose the Native American costume. Each class performed a song, the whole grade performed a song, and then the kids feasted together. What good memories!

Our son's grade participated in Native American Game Day. The kids played games in the gym, and then returned to their classrooms to feast.

We celebrated Nana's 65th birthday during Thanksgiving week by having family photos made. We're looking forward to seeing all of the family pics soon, but here's one of the four grandchildren. Our kids LOVE to spend time with their cousins!

Our kids are very lucky to have two great-grandmothers. We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with both of them.
GG just celebrated her 93rd birthday. She made a pecan pie for Thanksgiving. She said that it took her all day to open the Karo syrup for the pie. She tried every utensil that she had: ice pick, knife, etc. Then she finally realized that you had to take off the top and remove the seal before you could use it! She wanted to let everyone know...if you want to use Karo, remove the seal first!
Here's a picture of MawMaw with our girl and my sister aka "E." Don't they all look pretty in their color-coordinated black and gray?
Here's a picture of the "Kids' Table." Look...it's our boy, our girl, and their Dodo (my mom).
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!
